Abrasive Cold Cutting
Cold cutting is a common means for either precision cutting or demolition purposes where the use of hot work cutting is not possible.
Cutting can be carried out at a variety of pressures up to 40,000 psi by using high pressure water manipulated and controlled remotely. AWE have a variety of cold cutting systems available for a variety of situations.

Chemical Cleaning
Chemical cleaning is often used as a method to remove solids or deposits from process equipment by flushing chemicals through pipes and tubes as an alternative to mechanical or hydrojetting methods. In pre commissioning stages, debris and deposits such as mill scale, weld slag, oil, grease, sand and other materials need to be removed before starting up the process. These contaminants could otherwise cause critical failure in rotating equipment and other process equipment. During maintenance and shutdown operations chemical cleaning is occasionally considered due to access or the process product deposited on the pipes or tubes.
AWE provide a range of chemical cleaning pumps designed for your specific needs. We offer pumps in a range of materials depending on the chemical you intend to us and will offer support to ensure you have a solution that provides you with the versatility to cover your requirements.

Cooling Tower Basin Cleaning
Waste, sediment, calcites & harmful chemicals accumulate and settle at the bottom of lagoons & cooling tower basins, these effect production and water quality and can be difficult and costly to remove.
With a range of underwater remotely operated vehicles designed to operator in hazardous, toxic or temperate conditions and without interrupting production, removal of these deposits and cleaning can be carried out, effectively and without putting workers at risk.

Dewatering
Dewatering is a necessity in most construction sites close to sea level or where the water table is high and ground water is a problem. The practice of dewatering allows construction to continue safely and prepare the worksite for dry base to work from.
AWE has supported construction service companies with dewatering pumps for over 10 years. Through the range of Pioneer pump products, we are able to offer dewatering pumps with suction lift capabilities over 7 meters deep. Our clients use these pumps in a variety of applications including wellpoint or sump pumping and can be used to lift water from wells at depths well below ground level or to feed other booster pumps.

Fluid Transfer Pumping/Over Pumping
Maintenance of municipality utilities are a regular requirement. To avoid uninterrupted service of water, sewage and stormwater facilities, over-pumping or bypass pumping is used to pass the supply around the areas requiring maintenance without completely shutting down the network.
AWE can support your needs for over-pumping and fluid transfer. We cater to a range of features required from self-priming, high flow, high viscosity, shear sensitive and stringy solids pumping, perfect for applications in waste-water and sewage.

Hydro-demolition
A means to selectively remove concrete in a controlled manner, to a pre-set depth, without damaging the rebar & which cleans couplers & starter bars, producing no micro cracks while removing low, pour quality concrete.
Without the need for scaffolding, the wireless remotely operated robots can replace up to 5 hand held water jetting guns, 25 laborers with hand held jack hammers or 3 excavators with jack hammers. Hydro demolition UHP waterjetting is recommended in European Standards SS EN 1504-10 2017 for repair, restoration and new construction works.

Machinery Washdown/Cleaning
Industrial machinery and equipment is a big investment for any company, so maintaining and cleaning these investments is fundamental in order to keep your operations running and reduce repair costs.
AWE can provide solutions for yard equipment cleaning, ship and vessel cleaning pumps, DNV certified rig equipment including rig safe zone 2 certified units, custom solutions for food production facilities, power plant equipment cleaning and recreational facilities.

Pipe Cleaning
Clean and blockage free pipework is essential in any piping process.
When there is disruption to flow turn to AWE water jetting solutions. We have a range of nozzle and automated hose deployment systems to navigate bends in pipes from 2” upwards.

Pipeline Flooding
Pipeline Flooding is the process of filling pipelines, typically with water, during pigging operations or in preparation for pipeline testing. Pigging is conducted at the pre-commissioning stage to remove debris or corrosion and gauge the quality of the pipe construction and installation. Once the pigging is complete the pipeline can be hydrostatically tested and then dewatered.
During maintenance operations pigging is also used to remove the buildup of solids, scale and/or wax. These deposits reduce the flow capacity of the pipeline, so it is important to take preventative measures to keep the assets clean, inspected and operating at their optimum capacity. AWE support pipeline installation and maintenance companies with robust multistage pumps for pipeline flooding and testing. With a reliable multistage pump with ranges up to 1000m3/h and up to 130 bar, coupled with the engine of your choice, we are helping contractors get the work done safely, effectively and efficiently, without and downtime concerns.

Pipeline Flushing
Pipeline Flushing is typically the flushing of water pipelines in order to remove the build up of debris, scales, algae and other contaminants. The flushing process involves pumping a large volume of water through the pipeline to generate turbulent flow and remove the build up of the contaminants. Filters will be included in the process to remove particles in the pipelines.
AWE support Pipeline Flushing contractors with a powerful range of Pipeline Flushing pumps. Our Pioneer range offers unparalleled performance at high flow rates. Customized to your needs the pumps are packaged in our local facilities with a range of engines and supported with spares and service support from our team of trained technicians

Pipeline Testing
Pipeline testing is the process of hydrostatically testing pipelines after they have been installed. This is usually done as part of the pre-commissioning scope or after any inline modifications or adjustments. It involves bringing the hydrostatic pressure up to a test pressure above that of the operating design pressure. This needs to be done in a controlled manner and so a tried and tested solution is always best.

Process Pumps
AWE offer both API and non-API process pumps for a range of applications across many industries. Process pumps are used in various industries including Oil & Gas, Chemical processing, Municipal Water, General industry, Paper & Pulp. Our range of Disc pumps are used in extreme applications to transfer heavy or high solid content liquids in crude oil, slurries, sludge & for multiphase flow (gas-liquid-solid) application.
A wide range of Disc Pump models is available, including horizontal end-suction, close-coupled, ANSI, API-610, and submersible configurations, for flow rates from 2 GPM to 10,000 GPM. The pump’s unique non-turbulent, non-impingement mechanism is designed specifically to handle abrasive, corrosive shear sensitive, viscous, high-solids and/or gas-entrained slurries. Disc Pumps with its high tolerance to solids, entrained gas, broad range of viscosity and low NPSH requirement, replaces the conventional positive displacement pump with increase in system efficiency and reduced maintenance downtime and life cycle cost.

Sludge/Sediment Removal – Storage Tanks & Pits
In oil refineries, processing plants & storage facilities, crude oil & other products are left stationary for long periods of time, the heavier product settles on the tank bottom, this sediment or sludge can accumulate in vast amounts and can be unevenly distributed on the tank bottom. Crude extracted from the ground also includes vegetation, sand, shell, stone aggregate and water and when left stationary, these components separate due to gravity.
Causing inconstancy in product stock to the refinery process is one issue, but it does not stop there. This sludge takes up valuable tank storage space and as it is uneven spread over the tank bottom can cause stress on the tank structure and concertation’s of tank bottom corrosion. In large tanks with a floating roof, such uneven sludge accumulation may prevent the tank roof from being landed or even damage the tank roof or side shell.
